Bonds Homered, They Boo'ed

Digg!We went to the Rockies game last night and had a great time. The Rockies broke out in the 6th inning scoring 5 runs. Everything was going fine until the 9th inning when they played Barry Bonds' historic 756th home run on the jumbo tron. I was completely shocked that the entire stadium boo'ed at the screen. They boo'ed?! Okay, I understand if you don't like the guy because he's a jerk to the press and is suspected of steroids. However...the man just accomplished a great feat! Let's show good sportsmanship about the whole thing. I would like to know how many of the fans in the stadium could even do half of what he did? If you are a baseball fan, you just witnessed history...and for that, you should not be boo'ing. Let's give the guys some credit.

Barry Bonds, no matter how many steroids he's taken, is one of the best hitters in baseball. His timing, the way he turns on a pitch, his placement...he's a great hitter. Steroids would help him hit it farther, but he's just as dangerous hitting to other areas of the field as well. I personally don't think too highly of his steroid issues or run-ins with the press, but one thing is for sure...he just accomplished something great, and I can't believe a stadium full of baseball stands would be so childish as to boo.
