I used this song when proposing to my wife. If you asked me what "our song" is, this would be one of the candidates. The lyrics are great, because we live in a world that feels divorce is an alternative to marriage. People are too scared to make a long term commitment and sit ready to file for divorce at the first sign of trouble. Marriage is hard work, it takes time, energy, and effort to build a strong marriage. If you bail out at the first sign of difficulty, you are going to miss out on the great blessings and joy that come from being married. I love the lyrics & completely agree with your post. Marriage does take a lot of work & commitment. In a high school psychology class a discussion was brought up about the high divorce rate. The solution offered? Change marriage vows, something like: "For better or worse, for the next 7 years". No joke.
